Stanley J Huber, USAF, COL, MC, RET
(June 5, 1933 – April 22, 2020)
Dr. Stanley J Huber was born in Jackson, Michigan and passed away from cancer at his home in Lake Oswego. He graduated from Klamath Falls Union HS and attended Oregon State College (OSU), graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1956. Stan and his wife Terry moved to California where he worked at Lockheed Missile & Space Systems. They moved back to Oregon so that Stan could take additional coursework and teach at Oregon State College. While there he decided to attend medical school and eventually graduated from the U of O Medical School (OHSU) in 1965. Upon completing his military-sponsored internship he worked as the Chief of Aerospace Medicine on the Manned Orbiting Lab project for the Air Force.
Stan did his residency in Ophthalmology in Orange County, California and upon completion moved to Salem, Oregon to begin his practice. The “call of the blue” brought him back to California where he served as a Flight Surgeon at Travis AFB. His final move was to establish a practice in Ophthalmology/Retinal Surgery at Providence Hospital in Portland, Oregon. During this time his Air Force responsibilities continued as the Medical Clinic Commander at the Portland Airbase and McChord AFB in Washington. After retiring from the Air Force in 1993 and closing his practice in 1998, Stan taught at OHSU during the early years of the Department of Biomedical Engineering.
Stan loved model trains, flying planes, good wine, even better Scotch, and spending time in his favorite place; Sunriver, Oregon. His accomplishments were many and his life was full. He was dearly loved and will be missed by many. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years Terry, his daughter Lori (Tony), daughter Amy (Jamie), son Scott (Jesse), six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, extended family, many dear friends, and his beloved yellow lab Murphy.

Due to Covid 19 the services will be scheduled for a future date at the Willamette National Cemetery in Happy Valley, OR (directions).
